Lucy Liu is a voice actress and director. Also, she is an actress. Lucy Liu is an attractive and clever actor. Many Asian actors aspiring to be big actors in Hollywood look up to her. In the wake of a number of first appearances in some popular series her fame was boosted when she joined the crew of the cult comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. Her new-found fame was translated into roles on the big screen with Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and other films. The actress then gave an outstanding performance in the role of Japanese criminal O'Ren Ishii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time, her roles as a leading lady in flops that were box-office hits like Rise: Blood Hunter were equally prominent. Then, she was able to play characters that were prominent in animation films, such as Kung Fu Panda. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any results. Southland, a critically acclaimed series of police dramas which featured Liu in recurring role, allowed her to reaffirm her status as a performer. Liu is extremely careful when selecting her roles, so she doesn't get typecast. While she's extremely proud of her culture but she doesn't let it limit her imagination.
